How We Score Tools
Each tool in the Toolventory directory receives four scores on a scale of 1–10. Scores are estimated by AI based on publicly available data and are reviewed regularly as the AI landscape evolves. No score is permanent — tools that improve (or decline) are reassessed.
Popularity
The Popularity score measures how widely a tool has been adopted by the broader community. We analyse signals such as organic search volume, the size and activity of the tool's user community, mentions across social platforms, and the number of published tutorials, reviews, and integrations. A high Popularity score indicates that a tool has achieved significant traction and has an active, growing user base.
Trust
The Trust score reflects confidence in the company or team behind the tool. We assess the organisation's track record, transparency around data handling and privacy practices, the quality and frequency of product updates, responsiveness to user feedback, and the overall reputation within the industry. Tools built by established companies with clear privacy policies and a history of responsible stewardship score higher here.

The Accessibility score captures how easy it is for a new user to get started and derive value from the tool. Key factors include whether a free plan or trial is available, the complexity of onboarding, the quality of documentation, and the breadth of integrations with popular workflows and platforms. We aggregate sentiment from professional review platforms like G2 and Product Hunt, independent benchmark comparisons, media coverage from credible technology publications, and user testimonials. This score focuses on outcomes: does the tool consistently deliver what it promises?
